Crash

This is an excellent movie about racism and prejudices that exist in today's world. The lives of several people intertwine in LA, California in this film, showing the implications of racism, and how it can come to haunt you at a later time. It's quite touching. Brought many tears to my eyes. Everyone really must watch this movie.

Spoiler Alert!

The saddest scenes, for me, were the following (brought many tears to my eyes):

When the woman gets into a car accident, and the man who sexually harrassed her is trying to pull her out, yet she is too afraid to be helped by him. When the Persian man shot the child (luckily there was no bullet). And when the white police officer shot the young black man.

The only complaint I have about this movie is the sex-scene, which was entirely unncessary. But you know Hollywood--sex sells.

Definitely a 5 out of 5 stars.

yup seems like we pretty much had the same experiences with this movie.

what i liked most about this movie is one of hte messages it resonates is that you never really know yourself and what youre capable of, and that in itself is rather scary.

one part that made me think, see when the detective is pretty much blackmailed into taking the promotion? i dont know what i would have done in his position.

Those were my 2 fav scenes too. Oh and the bit where the good (white) cop panics and shoots the black man was shocking. I'm sure he learnt his lesson though. Good movie and review.

Salam,

You know there's this website/service that censors bad scenes from movies and re-releases them. I forget the name but Im sure you can google it.

As Muslims, we should avoid watching graphic movies which has such explicit scenes. You can usually look at the ratings and see why it was rated R and if there's mention of Nudity or Sexuality you should pass on it.

I mean, is it really worth it, to have your ears and eyes complain to Allah on the Day of Judgement?

Thanks for the review, but I'll wait for the TV-version :-D

Hmm...I absolutely loved this movie EXCEPT the crappy parts. I go to this Movie Rental Shop near my home. The owner is sort of a friend. Have been renting movies from him since a year or two so he knows my choice. I just ask him to give one. He asked me to watch crash.

I really was stunned at those scenes. When the cop is rescuing the woman after accident. When the white cop shoots the black guy when he was taking out a little statue only. When the Persian reaches the black guy, they argue, there the little angel comes and hugs her father, the Persian shoots but they are blanks (Zuljenah, it had bullets but they were blanks, only BOOM nothing else), the father and mother know what happened, they just go inside and man, did you hear the girl? She says it's ok father. She thinks she saved her father because the father had given her a HIDDEN CLOAK which would save her from bullets and that part too, where the black high cop's brother dies by hand of white cop, black guy talks to his mother in the hospital. His mother asks him to leave and that she wants to spend time with her dead son. When the black cop is about to leave. She says HE HAD COME HOME AND BROUGHT ME GROCERIES where the cop himself had brought those groceries. He just goes away almost in tears by saying YEAH.

Such a movie!

Have you watched or any plans to watch, "V for Vendetta"? I don't know if you will like it or not though.
